About Me
Dao Tien Dat was born and currently lives in Binh Dinh Province (now Gia Lai Province), Vietnam. He has been passionate about photography since 1998.
He has won over 2,100 domestic and international awards in 80 countries and territories across five continents. Among the most notable achievements are: the Golden Cup of Photographer of the Year 2005 (Italy); the Gold Medal – Best of Asia 2006 (Italy); nearly 400 Gold Medals; three Cups of Excellence in Hong Kong (2006, 2013) and Sweden (2009); First, Second, and Third Place Awards in the 2011 and 2012 Pictorial Print of the Year (SCP & SMP categories) of PSA (USA).
He was ranked 2nd in the World (EID category) in 2010, and ranked No.1 three times as Top Overseas Exhibitors in PSA Who’s Who in Photography: in SCP & SMP (2010) and SCP (2013) categories, as selected by the Photographic Society of America (PSA). He was also ranked Top 3 (2018) and Top 4 (2019) in the Asia Super 12 Circuits, and awarded the Golden Dragon Photo Awards 2022 (Gold of the Gold Standard) by the Asia Photographers Union (APU).
He has been honored with numerous distinctions, including:

- Jury Chair – the Color category VN-19 (2019), the Travel category VN-21 (2021), the Portrait category VN-25 (2025) of the International Artistic Photo Contest in Vietnam .
He also shares his insights on photo appraisal, art photography, and post-processing techniques in photography training camps.

The Fairy Tale of Modern
In 1983, Nguyen Ngoc Hung was the valedictorian of Quy Nhon Pedagogical University, Vietnam. Then he suffered from progressive muscular atrophy, paralysis of the whole body, and had to quit his job. After seeking treatment everywhere without success, his mother passed away due to grief over her son’s illness. In 1988, Mr. Xuan Anh and Mrs. Thu Ha, a couple in Cho Chua town, Nghia Hanh district, Quang Ngai province, were Hung’s classmates and have taken care of him for nearly 37 years. It was this wonderful care and nurturing that kept Nguyen Ngoc Hung in this life. Every day on his sickbed, he held a pen in his cramped fingers and “whispered” to poetry like a soul mate. To date, Nguyen Ngoc Hung poet has published more than 10 poetry collections and won many domestic awards; and international award for poetry for the disabled.
His willpower and thirst for life are a mirror for many people.The friendship of the Ngoc Hung – Xuan Anh – Thu Ha is a fairy tale of modern!

Photo 2: Nguyen Ngoc Hung poet has progressive muscular atrophy that paralyzes his entire body. All his activities are in bed. However, he still perseveres in stretching his limbs four times a day, despite the difficulty.
Photo 3: Every time he wants to sit, Hung’s legs have to be tied to the table legs to maintain balance, his body is as stiff as a wooden board.
Photo 4: Every time Mr. Xuan Anh’s nephew-in-law carried Nguyen Ngoc Hung out to the yard to bathe, joy and happiness appeared on his face. Hung said, This is my happy moment because I get to see and approach life.
Photo 5: For Nguyen Ngoc Hung, poetry is the reason for living, the choice to survive. He always struggles, thinks within his limited space, creates poetry to define his existence.

Whenever talking about her, Nguyen Ngoc Hung always calls her with two loving words “my big sister”.
